I just returned from the annual Conference of the Council for Responsible Nutrition at the Terranea Resort in Racho Palos Verdes, California. Speakers on the agenda included a variety of supplement industry heavyweights and important government regulators.
I will be blogging about several of the presentations including speeches by Joshua Sharfstein, Principal Deputy Commissioner of FDA, and David Vladek, Director of the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection.
I will also be providing my reflections on several CRN panel discussions focusing on a range of subjects including the 15th Anniversary of DSHEA, CRN programs like “Life…supplemented“, and other supplement insider events.
This was my second year attending The CRN Conference and it continues to impress me as an excellent event. I made several new connections, and some are reading this blog for the first time so welcome!
Food supplements are very dangerous for our health. With one exception: multivitamins. I take them and actually feel very good.
Hey,supplement are not that bad. There are many supplements that really helps. It depends on the person on how many supplement he/she taking of.
To buymultivitamins: Unless you acutally know what you are talking about or are an educated professional in the supplement field, I suggest not giving out your personal opinion. Supplements are 100% safe to take and many of them have better effects than pharmaceutical products. All you need to do is some research as to what to take and how much. This is easy enough to do. The only thing the public needs to make sure to check for is if they ARE using Pharmaceuticals in addition to supplements to check for interactions. This can be done easily enough at places like Drugs.com.
